Latin name: Maranta leuconeura ‘Silver Band’.
Description: Also known as the prayer plant, this maranta is named for its leaves that fold upward as the sun sets. This variety is less commonly found among tropical houseplants. Each leaf displays a unique, uniform pattern of green and silvery tones. Preferring medium light, it fits easily into most indoor spaces.
Light: Moderate to medium
Watering: Likes consistently moist soil; allow only the top few centimetres to dry before watering again.
Tips & tricks: Rotate the pot regularly to encourage even, balanced growth.
Watch for: Browning leaf edges are usually caused by low ambient humidity.
